Smarter public transport does not get stuck in traffic jams!
Ueli Stückelberger, Director, head of the legal department, Verband öffentlicher Verkehr
As a clean and massively energy-efficient means of transport, public transport will continue to play an important role in the future, especially in cities. Cities are only smart if they have well-developed public transport. Public transport is in the midst of decarbonisation, a major challenge that is being rigorously implemented. It is essential that public transport does not get stuck in traffic and can move through its routes quickly. Buses that are smart and stuck in traffic do not coincide.

From the tunnel, into the city
Sarah Kissling, Project manager smart city logistics, Cargo sous terrain AG
Traffic problems are more intense in cities.
Freight transport accounts for a large part of the traffic volume in urban areas. Cargo sous terrain is, as a result, building a city logistics system with environmentally friendly vehicles for the efficient local distribution of transported goods into the smart cities of the future. This relieves cities of up to 30% of delivery traffic and 50% of noise emissions.
