Autonomous Mobility - Ready to start now !
Andreras Herrmann, Director, Institute for Mobility, Universität St. Gallen
There has already been a lot of talk about autonomous mobility. Time and again, self-driving vehicles have been announced, but ultimately not put into circulation. Where are we with autonomous driving? In the meantime, the technology has come so far that it can be used in cities. Mobileye, Nio, Sixt and others are working on bringing the first autonomous taxis onto the streets in 2023. What are the consequences of this? What are the benefits for cities and people? Where does this technology lead? Can Mobility-as-a-Service be implemented with it? All these questions will be addressed in the short presentation. Nevertheless, numerous questions remain unanswered before the widespread use of such vehicles is conceivable. The question of private ownership of vehicles alone is likely to arouse many emotions.

Mobility as a Service and the status of being better than car ownership
Sampo Hietanen, CEO and Founder, MaaS Global
Mobility as a Service (MaaS) has been around as a concept for more than 15 years. It has been on everyone's lips when it comes to mobility for more than five years. In many ways, it's like the emperor's new clothes: something we should all look at with awe - but don't really know why. In Gartner's Hype Cycle, MaaS is placed in the "valley of disappointment", reaching a plateau in two to five years. Is that the case or will car ownership continue to dominate the scene?
